VERTIDRAIN

Why  aerate?

Soils that have become compacted restrict root growth, so stunting healthy leaf growth..

Compacted soils restrict drainage, saturated soils have reduced strength.

De-compacted helps prevent weed growth.

De-compacted soils promote the absorption of essential nutrients.

When  aerate?

Aeration should be carried out on a regular basis, it is normally undertaken in the Spring or Autumn, but wet conditions are avoided as this may cause damage.

Vertidraining is a aeration process, driving either  solid or hollow tines to a depth of 300mm, with a "kick" this decompacts the soil. Impoves drainage and allows for greater absorption of nutrients leading to stronger root growth and a stronger leaf

This is an ideal preparation for sand/compost spreading, it allows the sand to penatrate the soil sor optimum drainage and for the compost to get to the heart of the root growth
